Industrial bioreactor
An industrial bioreactor is a specialized process device designed to conduct controlled biological and biochemical reactions. It is used in fermentation, microorganism cultivation (bacteria, yeast), mammalian cell culture, and enzymatic processes. It is used in the production of vaccines, enzymes, recombinant proteins, and monoclonal antibodies. It can operate in batch, fed-batch, or continuous mode, depending on the technological process requirements.
A bioreactor is a device designed for a specific process. The design, working volume, mixing and aeration system, temperature and pressure range, and automation must be tailored to the application and plant standards (GMP, PED – where applicable). Design and Construction Tailored to the Technology
Each industrial bioreactor project is preceded by a process analysis, including the culture type and its shear sensitivity, oxygen demand (kLa), temperature and pressure requirements, mixing strategy, aeration, and CIP/SIP systems. We also consider integration with clean media, HVAC, and existing infrastructure.
We develop PFD and P&ID documentation, select agitator configurations, design a heating and cooling jacket, and an aeration system with sterile filtration. We eliminate dead zones and ensure full tank drainage. Our bioreactors are constructed of 3.1-certified stainless steel with a surface finish consistent with process requirements (e.g., Ra ≤ 0.8 µm).
Process safety is our priority
Each industrial bioreactor is equipped with hygienic fittings, safety valves, overpressure and underpressure protection, sterile gas filters, and aseptic connections. The automation system includes PLC controllers, HMI panels, and integration with SCADA/DCS systems. It provides monitoring of temperature, pH, pressure, level, oxygenation, and mixing speed, along with data archiving, recipe management, and safety alarms.
